Free Key Lime Doughnut at Krispy Kreme

If you have a smartphone, come by your local Krispy Kreme on Wednesday, May 22 – if you check in to the store on Foursquare with a friend, you will both receive a free Key Lime Doughnut! Pick from Key Lime Cake or Key Lime Cheesecake. If you don’t have the Foursquare app (it’s free), you can download it here.

Also, mark your calendar for June 7 – that’s National Doughnut Day, and you’ll receive a free doughnut just for the asking.

You can find Krispy Kreme at 701 E. Stassney and 12586 Research Blvd. in Austin; and at 121 N. IH-35 in San Marcos.

Free Cone Day at Haagen-Dazs

On Tuesday, May 14, participating Haagen-Dazs shops will offer free ice cream cones from 4-8 p.m. Simply stop in during those hours and pick up a treat in the flavor of your choice. Portions are 4 ounces, and include ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt and sorbet. Be prepared to wait in line!

Unfortunately, the only shop in the Austin area that is participating is the San Marcos location, at 3939 IH-35, South Frontage Road, Suite 130.

Canopy Studios Grand Opening

Drop by Canopy Studios, Austin’s newest creative complex, on Saturday, May 11 from 10 am-5 pm and Sunday, May 12 from 11 am-5 pm, for their grand opening party. There will be plenty of bites, beverages, live music, and art. Here’s what the party organizers say about the new venue:

Free Admission to Wildflower Center on Friday

5-Cent Queso at Taco Bueno

In celebration of Cinco de Mayo this weekend, all Taco Bueno locations in Texas will offer servings of queso for just five cents. This offer is good Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. The restaurant says the dip is an “improved, bolder queso,” made with two kinds of cheese, jalapenos and red peppers. No coupon is needed, and no additional purchase is necessary.
